The Mimir Chamber Music Festival, a 12-day experience of five Mimir Artists concerts and two Emerging Artists concerts at TCU’s PepsiCo Recital Hall, will accent its milestone 20th anniversary season with a proud First Church tradition — a special performance by the Mimir Chamber Music Festival string quartet (Heimat String Quartet) in our 9:40 am Chapel and 11:00 am Sanctuary worship services on Sunday, July 2.
Named for the Norse god of wisdom, the Mimir Festival features outstanding musicians from the world’s leading orchestras, music schools, and concert halls. Since its launch in 1998, this annual festival has enjoyed a growing audience of fans from throughout the Southwest for presentations of more than 100 exceptional concerts by renowned Mimir Artists, and mentoring of some 250 talented young Emerging Artists, with a growing international reputation fostered by its 2013 weeklong festival in Australia. This season, the Mimir Emerging Artists’ ensemble residency will feature performances by three preformed groups, early in their professional chamber music careers, who have been chosen through highly competitive international auditions.
Experience the magic and intimacy of chamber music — and join the Mimir celebration of its 20th anniversary season — right here at First Church in both of our July 2 traditional worship services.
