Last Sunday at FUMCFW was just spectacular — our debut of Connections honestly made me smile! The ladies from the Hannah UMW Circle were on hand to offer hospitality, delicious cookies, and Valentine candy (thank you, UMW!), and the weather was unseasonably nice so we opened the doors for people to enjoy both Wesley Hall and the Garden. The great music from the eleven:eleven band, along with the refreshments, made this first morning of Connections sweet indeed.
While it takes some effort to coordinate using Wesley Hall as a gathering space between services, I feel it’s well worth it. Watching so many people come together to not only enjoy their time visiting with one another, but to pitch in and move chairs around together so that it’s ready for the eleven:eleven service was, for me, truly “faith in action!”
Because there are so many ways to style your Sunday morning here (it’s one of the greatest things about our church), the opportunity for everyone to gather between classes and services is extremely important. It offers an opportunity for impromptu conversations and the relationships they nurture. That’s what brings us together as a church family. On Sunday, I saw members of our church family — who might not have even crossed paths otherwise — laugh, enjoy refreshments, andwork together to prepare for the next worship service!
Whether you are a member, visitor, or guest, we want you to have a place and a way to connect with others in our faith community on Sunday mornings. Please take a few moments to enjoy this new opportunity for fellowship between services from 10:30 – 11:00 am and from 12:00 – 12:30 pm in Wesley Hall or the Garden. Come visit, grab a cup of coffee, and celebrate the big picture of our First Church Sunday mornings together.
See you Sunday at Connections!
