Last Sunday was perfect for the Celebration of Gratitude on 5th Street. Thanks to all who attended and special thanks to our food trucks (Chimy’s, Austin Underdawgs and Pokey O’s) who not only served up delicious food but who also generously gave back from their sales in the way of cash donations totaling $900.
Thank you to those who dropped by the Gratitude Table to turn in or fill out your 2019 Commitment Card. Many of you also picked up your newest Christmas ornament — our small way of expressing our gratitude for your vital participation and assistance in supporting the 2019 Ministry and Operating Fund.
If you have not picked up your thank you gift, please stop by the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings during November or contact me during the week so that I can arrange delivery.
I am also asking for your continued prayers as we move closer to reaching our 2019 Stewardship Campaign Goal. As of today, we are at $2,282,320 or 83% of our goal of $2,750,000 with 428 households participating.
There are about 250 households which participated in our 2018 Campaign (thank you again) that have not yet returned their card this year. We certainly understand that many of you prefer to wait closer to year end which is quite ok. However, please consider this: if each of these households returns their card at the same amount that they committed to in 2018, I will be able to report to our congregation that we exceeded our 2019 goal by $158,000. That is why I know our 2019 goal is doable with your help!
I am so very thankful for each of you because of what you are making happen here at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth right now! Your generous giving with GRATITUDE makes it possible for us as one church to share the good news of God’s love and grace through a variety of vibrant, life-changing ministries. Because of YOU, we are following Jesus Christ!
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
— Matthew 28:19-20
Thank you again!
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday!
Together through Christ,
Director of Stewardship
