Where were you fifteen years ago on September 11, 2001? This date changed our history and certainly changed our lives. It’s a day that most of our nation reflects, reacts, and renews a commitment to our country and our way of life. It is with this thought that I remind you of our 9/11 service and the powerful presentation of the Singing Men of First Church! This men’s ensemble will present two stirring renditions that will hopefully remind us of the bravery and determination required to keep us free as well as an awakening of renewed spirit for life. “Wherever emptiness is found, let there be joy and glorious sound!” This is an excerpt from “The Awakening,” a stirring rendition that reminds us of the never-ending, never-dying spirit we have for life. This arrangement as well as “Who Are the Brave” will hopefully fill your hearts and minds with reminders of where we have been, where we are today, and what we have to look forward to! I invite all FUMCFW men to join us for rehearsals on Wednesday, August 31, and Wednesday, September 7, at 8:00 pm in the Choir Room as we prepare for a memorable worship experience on Sunday, September 11.
