Joint Security Efforts

First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth is one of the most unique historical landmarks in downtown Fort Worth. The beauty and splendor of its exterior attracts people of various cultures, backgrounds, races, genders, ethnicities, and faiths, and is something the church staff, members, and volunteers all take great pride in.

However, the wide range of visitors at FUMCFW every Sunday means there is a wide variety of backgrounds and wide array of circumstances represented. Sometimes, it can be challenging to remember we are all God’s children, and as such, we should welcome others — even those who are different from you — with the same generosity that we expect ourselves. Since I have been at FUMCFW, I have found this to be a challenge for me with all types of people — visitors, members, and our friends in the homeless community.

The First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth Security Team and Staff would like to assure everyone that we take pride in your safety. On Sundays, the Ushers, Greeters, Volunteers, and Security Team confide in each other and work together for the safety of all who visit our church. However, sometimes incidents do occur that must be addressed by security personnel. These incidents are always handled in a courteous and respectful manner.

In a joint effort and all working together, I would like to request all incidents involving unwanted or illegal circumstances be reported immediately to Security. Please place this Security phone number in an accessible place for your use: 817-443-1980.
