If you worshipped in the Gathering last week, you heard Kat, Mark, and me all struggle to put into words how exciting it was to be back together, physically, for worship. Mark’s analogy of finally understanding how his dog feels when he enters the room gets the closest to explaining it. I felt relief, hope, happiness, and just love seeing so many of you in-person.
For most of us it’s been a year or more since we’ve been in-person at church. As wonderful as technology is, it can’t entirely communicate the immense holiness of stepping into the sacred space of our sanctuary. When we worship together in our sacred space, we join with the (I estimate) hundreds of thousands of people who have worshipped God in that space over the past 90+ years. God is present everywhere, but there is something about the glory of our physical church building that helps us to feel and know that God is with us.
We have a wonderful protocol in place to allow us to worship together while staying as safe as possible. I hope you click the link below, reserve your spot, and join us on Sunday so you can see what all the excitement is about.
I can’t wait to see you!
