Today’s Scripture:

Psalm 90:12-17

So teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart.

Turn, O Lord! How long? Have compassion on your servants!

Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Make us glad as many days as you have afflicted us, and as many years as we have seen evil.

Let your work be manifest to your servants, and your glorious power to their children.

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and prosper for us the work of our hands— O prosper the work of our hands!

Food For Thought:

The line that stands out to me in this passage of Scripture is: “…teach us to count our days.” In other words, we need to seize every moment that we have because we don’t know when it will be our last day. Living each day to the fullest is an important way to live our lives—to reach out in kindness, forgiveness, love, hospitality, grace and model what it means to be a Christian to others. Think of how you number your days. How do you live your life to the fullest?

Prayer:

(St. Francis of Assisi)

You are holy, Lord, the only God,

and Your deeds are wonderful.

You are strong.

You are great.

You are the Most High.

You, Holy Father are King of heaven and earth.
