The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
Food for Thought:
When I read this Scripture, I think of the times in my life that I’ve been so sick that my body has no strength in it. It is at those times in my life when I needed someone else to be my strength — to take care of me and to offer me gifts of comfort. This is what I think of when I hear the words of the Psalmist. Sometimes we have no strength but God gives us strength to carry on our daily living and to go out and be God’s people in the world.
Healing God, we come before you this day thankful for your healing presence in our lives. Thanks for giving us strength when we have none. Thanks for watching over us. Thanks for promising always to be with us. In your name we pray, Amen.
