Today’s Scripture:

Psalm 24

Lift up your heads, O gates!

and be lifted up, O ancient doors!

that the King of glory may come in.

Who is the King of glory?

The Lord, strong and mighty,

the Lord, mighty in battle.

Lift up your heads, O gates!

and be lifted up, O ancient doors!

that the King of glory may come in.

Who is this King of glory?

The Lord of hosts,

he is the King of glory.

Food For Thought:

In this passage of Scripture, the Psalmist talks about how mighty God is. Think about how you have seen God’s might at work in the world. How can you be mighty for God? What kind of things should Christians be mighty in, in order to usher in God’s kingdom here on earth?

Prayer:

Source of all being, beginning and end,

we praise you for those who have served you faithfully.

For the sake of Jesus Christ,

replenish our hope in your eternal kingdom,

that we may have life in all its fullness,

unfettered by the fear of death. Amen.
