Today’s Scripture:

Psalm 104:1-4

Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, you are very great. You are clothed with honor and majesty, wrapped in light as with a garment. You stretch out the heavens like a tent, you set the beams of your chambers on the waters, you make the clouds your chariot, you ride on the wings of the wind, you make the winds your messengers, fire and flame your ministers.

Food For Thought:

In this passage of Scripture, the Psalmist talks about blessing the Lord. When I think about blessing the Lord, I think about ways that I can bless God by blessing others. Think about some of your blessings. How could you use the blessings and gifts that you have been given to bless others? I ran across this wonderful quote from Henry Ward Beecher: “The unthankful heart discovers no mercies; but the thankful heart will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings.” Thankfulness for what you have is important in the Christian life. Think about things that you are thankful for and praise God today for those things.

Eternal One, whose thoughts and ways are not ours, you alone are God, awesome, holy, and most high.
School us in the ways of faith and wisdom,
that we may learn to truly see and hear,
and in humility find blessing. In your holy name we pray, Amen.
