The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to till it and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, “You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die.”
Food for Thought:
When I read this passage, I think of boundaries. God is placing boundaries on the human being. We all need healthy boundaries. How are you creating healthy boundaries in your life? Do you take time to recharge so that you can be a faithful witness to God? Do you set time apart for Sabbath? Today, I encourage you to take some time for yourself and reconnect with God.
Fill us with your strength to resist the seductions of our foolish desires and the tempter’s vain delights,
that we may walk in obedience and righteousness, rejoicing in you with an upright heart. In your holy and precious name we pray, Amen.
