Today’s Scripture:
Psalm 70
Be pleased, O God, to deliver me.
O Lord, make haste to help me!
Let those be put to shame and confusion
who seek my life.
Let those be turned back and brought to dishonor
who desire to hurt me.
Let those who say, “Aha, Aha!”
turn back because of their shame.
Let all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you.
Let those who love your salvation
say evermore, “God is great!”
But I am poor and needy;
hasten to me, O God!
You are my help and my deliverer;
O Lord, do not delay!
Food For Thought:
The line that stands out to me is “God is great.” In what ways has God been great to you? How do you see that God’s greatness calls us to be great to others?
Prayer:
We veil our faces before your glory, O Holy and Immortal one, and bow before the cross of your wounded Christ. With angels and archangels, we praise you, our Mercy, and we bless you, our Compassion, for in our brokenness you have not abandoned us. Hear us as we pray through Jesus, our high priest. Heal all division, reconcile the estranged, console the suffering, and raise up to new life all that is bound by death. In your precious name we pray, Amen.
