Today’s Scripture:
John 3:13-17
No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. “Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Food For Thought:
The line that stands out to me in this passage of Scripture is John 3:16—partly because people so often use this Scripture as a way to condemn others. But this passage is meant to be one to remind us that God loves each and every one of us and that God showed the depth God’s love through Jesus Christ.
Prayer:
Sovereign God, you make us for each other, to live in loving community as friends, sons and daughters, sisters and brothers, wives and husband, partners and companions. Teach us to choose love that is committed and devoted; teach us like little children to wonder and to trust, that our loving may reflect the image of Christ. Amen.
