The Lord is king, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed, he is girded with strength. He has established the world; it shall never be moved;
your throne is established from of old; you are from everlasting.
The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring.
More majestic than the thunders of mighty waters, more majestic than the waves of the sea, majestic on high is the Lord!
Your decrees are very sure; holiness befits your house, O Lord, forevermore.
Food for Thought:
When I read this passage of Scripture the word majesty comes to mind. How would you describe God as majestic? What are some things that take your breath away in God’s beauty? What about this world causes awe and wonder for you?
Most High God, majestic and almighty, our beginning and our end ─ in our hearts and guide us to be faithful in our daily actions, worshiping the one who comes as Savior and Sovereign, and who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God. In your holy and precious name we pray, Amen.
