1 Timothy 4:11-16
Command these things. Teach them. Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young. Instead, set an example for the believers through your speech, behavior, love, faith, and by being sexually pure. Until I arrive, pay attention to public reading, preaching, and teaching. Don’t neglect the spiritual gift in you that was given through prophecy when the elders laid hands on you. Practice these things, and live by them so that your progress will be visible to all. Focus on working on your own development and on what you teach. If you do this, you will save yourself and those who hear you.
Questions to Ponder:
What kind of example are you setting for other believers through your words, action, focus, and priorities? What spiritual gifts and graces have you been given – and how do you practice using them in your daily life? How are you developing your gifts in order to share them with others?
Prayer for Today:
Gracious and loving God, thank you for the spiritual gifts you have given me, along with the knowledge of how best to use them. Please help me practice and live by these special gifts from You each day so that I may be a blessing to others. Show me how to develop what you’ve given me in a way that benefits my life and all the lives I touch. Amen.
