Today’s Scripture:

Psalm 85:8-13

Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his faithful, to those who turn to him in their hearts.

Surely his salvation is at hand for those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land.

Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other.

Faithfulness will spring up from the ground, and righteousness will look down from the sky.

The Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase.

Righteousness will go before him, and will make a path for his steps.

Food for Thought:

In this passage, the Psalmist talks about faithfulness and righteousness.  How are you faithful to God?  How are you faithful to those around you?  What do you think it means to be faithful to someone?

God of awe, we long to hear your faithful word of righteousness and peace.  Guide us as we seek to be your faithful disciples in this world.  Give us courage to be bold in the way in which we live our lives.  Remind us that you are always with us.  In the strength of your Spirit, help us to go out proclaiming your message of love.  In your holy and precious name we pray,  Amen.
