Good Book Club | Children’s Wing, 2nd floor
Our final Good Book Club of the school year is Wednesday, April 6. It kicks off with a meal in Wesley Hall at 5:30 pm. The parenting session from 6:00 – 7:00 will feature Suzanne Stephenson, Family Life Education Program Director at The Parenting Center presenting “Understanding Your Child’s Temperament.”
We are all born with a temperament. We’ll help you understand how to make temperament an asset and not a parenting battleground.
From 6:00 – 7:00 the kids will have Good Book Club in the Children’s Wing. Our theme for April is —Wow! Each book celebrates some aspect of God’s wonderful world, including those charged with helping care for it.
3rd Grade and Older
“Hoot” by Carl Hiassen
A great book for young environmentalists. A fun, adventurous story of children setting out to save the habitat of some pint-sized owls. “Hoot” was a 2005 Newberry Award finalist.
2nd Grade and Younger
“The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss
A classic (aren’t all Dr. Seuss books “classics?”) tale of a creature who tries to save the environment, one Truffula Tree at a time.
“What a Wonderful World” by George David Weiss and Bob Thiele, illustrated by Ashley Bryan
Beautiful illustrations complement the text to one of the greatest songs in the great American Songbook.
