Work is now underway to install wheelchair accessible seating at the back of the Sanctuary, where people with disabilities can sit side by side with those sitting in pews.
And, and while the Sanctuary is out of commission for the construction of this wheelchair accessible platform, repairs to plaster damage on the ceiling are being made throughout the Sanctuary.
To contain the dust from both construction and plaster repair in order to protect the Anne S. and Henry B. Paul Sanctuary Pipe Organ, plastic sheeting has been installed and will remain in place until the project is complete, which is projected to be in time for Sunday worship on March 23.
The Sanctuary IS open and ready for worship this Sunday — the only plastic you’ll see if covering the organ pipes, and the organ will still be its beautiful-sounding self!
