As a church member we want to be sure you stay fully updated on where we are in the building project that will transform our facilities and position our church for our NEXT 90 years of ministry. Your awareness and support are essential to making this building program a success!
Right now, our building committee is hard at work reviewing construction and design options and still has important work to do to address some specific issues that impact construction costs and final design details. This will require more time to resolve prior to launching the public phase of our Capital Campaign, which we had previously planned for this fall.
Additionally, because Rev. Lance Marshall is taking family leave in August and September as his family grows through adoption he will just be returning to work in early October when the Capital Campaign was originally planned to launch. Because his shared leadership will be a very important part of the launch of our Next90 Capital Campaign, it is important to give him additional time to get up to speed following his leave.
For both of these reasons, it’s easy to see why a Fall 2019 public campaign is unrealistic at this time. With the ongoing work of our campaign consultants, we are currently analyzing future dates and timing for launching a successful campaign. We will keep you informed as we have more updates to share.
Thanks to your continued support and endorsement, as a church we remain, perhaps even more so, enthusiastic about First Church’s future and our Next90 building expansion program!
