Tim Talks: Hymns of Our Faith Series

By May 11, 2020

On Thursday, May 7, we launched a new weekly video series called Tim Talks.  Join us each week as Senior Pastor Dr. Tim Bruster offers his thoughts and reflections on a variety of topics — some theological, some not!

This is a special time of connection with this familiar voice in a whole new way. While Tim has a list of his own, he also welcomes your ideas for topics, items of interest, and questions for pondering together in this brief weekday digital offering. TimTalks also premieres every Thursday afternoon at 4:00 pm live on Facebook and YouTube. If you miss it or want to see one again, Tim Talks will be archived as a playlist on Facebook, YouTube and SoundCloud so you can listen anywhere, anytime you’re in the mood for pondering!

This week Tim will begin a series of several talks on “Hymns of our Faith” — and how those hymns aren’t just for singing, but for feeding our spirits in every season of life.  Each hymn has its own story  as does each hymn writer.  These background stories are often fascinating and inspiring.

In these episodes, Tim will also be sharing out of his own personal collection of hymnals — some dating back to the 1800’s.  He’ll also talk about how you can access the great hymns of our faith online.

A good companion to this series of Tim Talks is Peggy Graff’s Hymn-a-Day playlist on YouTube, Soundcloud, and Facebook

To illustrate Tim’s love and passion for hymnology, check out this special guest appearance he and his wife, Susan, a member of Adoramus and Choral Union, made together from their home as part of Hymn-a-Day May!
