Special Music This Sunday: Arthur and Evelyn Busby

By July 8, 2020

This Sunday, July 26, in The Sanctuary, Arthur Busby and his daughter, Evelyn, will be performing our special music, prelude, postlude, and offertory, during the 11:00 am worship service, live online at fumcfw.org/live.

Arthur, who serves as Personnel Manager and member of the Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra, is also a a member of the Fort Smith Symphony Orchestra in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Locally, he serves First United Methodist Church of Arlington as Assistant Director of the Chancel Orchestra and Youth Orchestra. Currently a freelance musician, Arthur and has performed at FUMCFW numerous times in larger orchestral ensembles for Choral Union presentations and for weddings. We are delighted to welcome him back this coming Sunday.

And this Sunday, in addition to Arthur’s awe-inspiring talent,  his daughter, Evelyn, 17 , who is about to be a senior at Trinity Preparatory Academy, will be joining him during this special music offering. Evelyn has studied harp for 8 years, is the principal harpist for the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra and has performed as a soloist for that orchestra and also the Fort Smith Symphony Orchestra. She is also a member of the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas.

And being a harpist is not this young woman’s only talent. Evelyn is working on her Eagle Scout rank for Scouts BSA and will be in the first group of females ever to earn this ranking/award.

Make plans now to join us in the Sanctuary for worship this Sunday (and if you miss it, catch it later on our YouTube channel!) when these two fabulous musicians create what is sure to be yet another memorable FUMCFW Music Ministry Moment.
