Kids Hope USA Kicks Off New School Year with Record Number of Volunteer Mentors

By September 26, 2018

As the 2018-19 school year rolls into motion, our FUMCFW Kids Hope USA volunteers are getting set to head into the new school year with a crew of volunteers that has grown this year by more than 150%!

Kids Hope USA volunteers spend one hour each week with a student who is assigned to them, making relationships that encourage and enhance the child’s life. This year our volunteers will again work at Nash Elementary and at T.A. Sims Elementary. In addition, a few of our veteran volunteers who have remained in relationship with their students, are also serving Kids Hope at the middle school and high school levels. As always, a very special thanks to Gay Ingram, Kids Hope USA program director, for her tireless devotion to this program, its mentors, and above all, to the children it serves.

It’s not too late to sign up! If you’ve ever considered being a Kids Hope Volunteer Mentor — or if you’re just now seeing this opportunity for the first time — please contact Kids Hope Director Gay Ingram (gringram@flash.net | 817-999-8075) to learn more about how you can be part of this dynamic and life-giving program (and not just for the kids we serve!)
