If you’ve been wondering why our brick parking lot corners are all in heaps where they once stood — or why there’s a port-a-potty in the middle of the Justin parking lot in front of the church, wonder no more.
As part of our new wayfinding initiative — to make our campus easier to navigate and even to find for visitors, we’ve begun a massive signage project. The plan, of course, was to have all this complete before Advent; however, due to the humongous backlog in the permit department of the City of Fort Worth, we are still waiting on our permits to be granted. As of this week, seven out of nine permits have been granted, but construction will not begin until after Christmas so as to keep from creating unsafe conditions for members, visitors, and guests.
While this current mess is far less than ideal, what is ideal is that the project is now fully underway, and the end result will be well worth the wait. Meanwhile, let’s just all agree to smile and “deck the dirt” in our imagination (made easier by our Communications Design Wizard Richard McQuillar) while dreams of our beautiful new corner markers dance in our heads!
