North Texas Giving Day September 17

By September 4, 2020

It’s time again for the annual North Texas Giving Day, the single-day each September in which our entire North Texas community joins together in support of our favorite local nonprofits and causes we care about in one easy-to-use platform.

In addition to providing this singular community focus on supporting a wide variety of nonprofit organizations, during this 18-hour online giving event every donation you make of $25 or more is multiplied with bonus funds and prizes to the nonprofits we’re supporting with these donations.

This year’s Giving Day event will be September 17 from 6:00 am to midnight. You can also schedule your gifts ahead of the actual event day. Scheduling your donations works like scheduling your bills. Between today and September 17, go to NorthTexasGivingDay.org and schedule your donations to your favorite nonprofits.

Specifically designed to empower individuals to give back to their community, North Texas Giving Day makes it easy for us here at First Church to remember to support three vital ministries of the FUMCFW faith community who must raise all or part of their own programming budgets. And remember, because these are also three distinctly separate 501c3 nonprofit organizations, your North Texas Giving Day gifts must be designated specifically to each ministry.

First Street Methodist Mission strives to meet the basic needs of others — such as food, clothing, and infant formula — in an atmosphere of respect and love for all of God’s children.

Methodist Justice Ministry protects indigent women and children from domestic violence, neglect, and abuse and then helps them lead new lives free of violence, abuse, fear, and self-loathing.

Dementia Friendly Fort Worth serves people with dementia, care partners, communities, and business sectors with education, awareness, and training to create life-enriching services, practices, and support.

Although these three nonprofit organizations are in part supported by our church through in-kind support to cover overhead expenses (office space and utilities, administrative, accounting, and communications services), they still must raise funding for their programming, projects, materials, and operating costs through grants, donations and fundraising activities such as North Texas Giving Day.

Thank you for all you do to support these ministries of our church!
