MJM awarded Junior League Grant

By June 15, 2020

Our incredible partners at the Methodist Justice Ministry who work tirelessly to provide free legal representation and ongoing support to women and children living with domestic abusive announced last week that they have been awarded a grant from The Junior League of Fort Worth (JLFW) to support the MJM’s Safe Home Program. This program is specifically designed to provide women and their children who have been impacted by family violence and abuse a safe and healthy home environment.

The MJM law firm goes far beyond providing free legal representation; they continue their support of these families – through their work in the Safe Home Program – long after a judgment is issued, and they walk alongside them through the difficult stages that come after. The staff at MJM continues to support their clients as they learn to live a new life free from violence and fear as they begin to rebuild the life they deserve.

Rev. Brooks Harrington, MJM Legal Director says, “The ongoing services that MJM offers through our Safe Home Program is paramount in helping women break the generational cycle of abuse and go on to live a life of independence and stability for themselves and their children. This JLFW Community Grant will allow us to provide valuable necessities that will help prevent women and children from returning to their abuser due to financial hardships. We are truly grateful for their support.”

Congratulations to our partners at MJM! Our entire First Church faith community stands with you, supports you, and we can’t wait to see what wonderful work you are able to accomplish through the help of this grant provided by our friends at the Junior League of Fort Worth.
