Looking for an Oasis?

By October 4, 2019

Join us each Sunday morning through October 27, at 9:30 am in Leonard Memorial Chapel, where the sound of a Native American flute invites all who come to enter this special time of Contemplative Hospitality for the Soul. In this thoughtfully designed Contemplative Oasis, you can learn more about the practice of contemplation and discover a place where your soul can find rest, refreshment, and renewal.

At the beginning of each Contemplative Oasis led by Dr. Len Delony, Associate Pastor of Spiritual Formation, you will find new ways to let go of distractions and be more fully present to what nourishes your soul. During this time, we will be also exploring parts of Into the Silent Land by Martin Laird (book not required), and then we will share a time of silent, Centering Prayer.

Immediately following the Contemplative Oasis you are more than welcome to stay for our brief Chapel Communion Service at 10:30 am.

Whether you are new to Contemplative Prayer or just looking for a community of like-minded others who long for deep, soulful listening, these gatherings can open your heart and fundamentally change the way you see and hear.

If you have any questions about the Contemplative Oasis, Chapel Communion, Contemplative Prayer, or Spiritual Direction, please contact Dr. Len Delony (ldelony@myfumc.org | 817-339-5099).
