Let the Good Times (and Pickleball) — Roll!

By September 26, 2019

If you’ve been wondering about this new brand of First Church fun and fellowship, we invite you to come to the Justin between 6:00 and 8:00 pm on Monday nights through November 18 to play, watch, cheer, heckle, laugh and generally add a heaping of PLAY to your Healthy Plate.

Now in its third week, FUMCFW Pickleball is proving itself to be all the fun, great exercise, and opportunity for building community as predicted — and then some! Now entering its third week, this 8-week pilot program is off to a promising start, we hope you’ll come see what it’s all about.

Regardless of your level or experience — or if you’ve never played at all — Pickleball is a simple game that’s easy to play and fun for all ages and athletic abilities. It involves a ball, a paddle, a court, a net, and usually four people.

Some call it a mix of ping pong, tennis, and racquetball. Others call this strange new sport now sweeping the nation “a whole lot of fun” and “exercise you don’t even know you’re getting.”

Come join us and see for yourself what all the buzz is about!

Here’s what to bring:

  • Water (and maybe a hand towel)
  • $5
  • “Court” Shoes
  • A paddle if you have one (if not we have extras available to borrow!)
