“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? . . .
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
— Matthew 25:37, 40
According to 2017 stats from the Food and Agriculture Organization, 815 million people in the world don’t get the food they need to live a healthy life. This past Sunday marked the fourth annual Rise Against Hunger food packaging event. “FUMCFW volunteers joined the thousands of volunteers across the globe who worked to make a difference,” said Charme Robarts, Community Advocate and DiscipleChurch Coordinator. “Your contributions to our Christmas and Easter offerings made it possible for our church to purchase, pack, and ship the ingredients for the meal packets.” Thanks to volunteer time and donations, we packaged 18,000 meals to rise against hunger this year. While this may only feed a few out of the many, together we are helping more of the least of these.
