Easter Egg Saturday: A New Take on an Old Tradition

By April 10, 2020

For years, we at First Church have come to love a number of time honored traditions, especially when it comes to traditions for the whole family. One such First Church beloved tradition is celebrating Easter Saturday at Lyle Lodge complete with an egg hunt for all ages, face painting fun, and a butterfly release!

While we won’t be bringing a traveling petting zoo, we will be bringing the fun this Easter Saturday! Last week, our FUMCFW youth led by Kat and Matt, teamed up with Janice and Dr. Mike with our Children’s Ministry to deliver Easter egg goodie bags to as many friends as possible.

And then, prompted by another ask from our Communication Team, parents submitted videos of their little ones hunting these eggs, to be compiled in a virtual Easter Egg Hunt montage of our First Church families, culminating in our other favorite way to usher celebrate the beauty of the Easter season — and the Easter message itself — with the FUMCFW butterfly release, to be brought to us on “live” at fumcfw.org/live at noon on Easter Saturday, April 11!
