The final quarter of any year always brings with it some level of uncertainty, and this year is no exception. Will everyone fulfill their financial commitments as promised? Will the additional generous gifts come in as always to help close the gap? Will the storms of uncertainty in the world around us affect our congregational giving as we continue our ministries through the fall, into advent, and right up to the end of the year?
The summer months at First church are always very busy months for our ministries and our members — vacation Bible school, youth and youth choir mission trips, Grace groups, Bible studies, and thought-provoking conversations and messages. It is also a time for vacation and renewal for both church staff and church members, which generally results in lower worship attendance and a dip in giving.
So now, as we begin the fourth quarter of 2019 and the seasons of Thanksgiving and Advent, we are launching a Finish Strong campaign to raise the awareness and assistance of our entire faith community to ensure that we raise the remaining dollars we need to fully fund our vital ministries through the end of the year.
- If you are on track with your 2019 Commitment, we thank you!
- If you have already fulfilled your 2019 Commitment, we thank you!
- If you have fallen behind on your 2019 Commitment and have an intentional plan for getting back on track, we thank you! (And if you need help in creating this plan, give us a call — we can help!)
- If you have yet to make a 2019 gift, this would be a great time to add this heart-changing portion to your Healthy Plate Discipleship!
If your giving is set up through a credit card, please take a moment to verify that these payments are going through as you have specified. And of course, if you’ve gotten a replacement credit card, or your credit card payment has lapsed for any other reason, please be sure to reactivate your monthly online payment at fumcfw.org/givenow or contact Steve Fagan in the Business Office at 817-339-5085 so we can help you get back on track.
This is a time for us all to come together as a faith community to Finish Strong as celebrate the many blessings of our faith community and honor God with our gifts of gratitude. Please join our church leaders as we prayerfully make additional, sacrificial gifts over and above our current giving and designate it to our 2019 Finish Strong Campaign.
Yes, there are storms of uncertainty brewing all around us — and yet, even in the midst of these storms, by working together we can Finish Strong.
