UMW Honors Anne Paup with Annual Fundraiser Honorary Chair Position

By March 20, 2018

Each year we recognize an extraordinary woman whose involvement in United Methodist Women at FUMC Fort Worth has made a profound impact on our group and community with our annual fundraiser’s Honorary Chair position. Our 2018 Journey Through Faith Honorary Chair is Anne Paup.

You may recognize Anne’s name from our Anne S. and Henry B. Paup Sanctuary Pipe Organ of which Anne and her husband Hank are the lead donors, but her involvement in our church and UMW runs even deeper.

A member of First Church for 35 years, Anne has sung in our Choral Union Adult Chancel Choir for about 15 years and she and Hank taught Sunday School for 10.

In UMW, Anne was a charter member of Hannah Circle (then known as C-3) and chairwoman of her circle twice. She was UMW Event Chair of the “Fashions, Sass, and Glass Fashion Show.” After serving as UMW President for two years, she retired to Nominating Committee for three years.

Anne says, “United Methodist Women has been a means of fellowship for me with many great friends here at FUMC. If not for UMW, I would not have met all these wonderful and talented women. It is also a chance for us to do together, what we could never do alone, and that is what we have contributed to the women and children of this community and the world. I am glad our church has placed a great importance on our United Methodist Women’s groups and goals. Thank you for this fabulous honor. I will always cherish it.”

Thank you, Anne, for your service to United Methodist Women, our church, and community — and for embodying the national UMW slogan: Faith • Hope • Love in Action.
