Did you know?
Although we’re still tabulating the Lent Survey results, one comment that was expressed by a large number of survey participants was how much weekly communion meant to them. Did you know that FUMCFW offers a communion service every week?
With special music, prayer and readings, this quiet contemplative full communion service led by Dr. Len Delony and other clergy is available each week for those who want to add communion to their weekly worship experience. For more information, please contact Dr. Len Delony (ldelony@myfumc.org).
Easter Offering Open Through May 29
While Easter Sunday is now past, our Season of Easter is a joyous time of celebration and reflection that extends through May 29 according to our liturgical calendar. Each year as a faith community we honor this time and space of grateful reflection by sharing the hope of resurrection with people living in despair through our “second mile” Easter Offering. Your prayerful gift provides direct support to vital outreach programs including:
FIRST STREET METHODIST MISSION: Supports the feeding ministries at the First Street Methodist Mission.
OUTREACH MINISTRIES: Supports the FUMC Methodist Justice Ministry, United Community Centers, Habitat for Humanity, and Child Development Programs for Homeless Children at the YWCA.
CHURCH GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT: Supports new church starts in the Central Texas Conference through the Shares Program. Please remember that the funds making possible our First 7th Community come from Church Growth and Development.
PERKINS SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY: Help fulfill our church’s commitment to provide the office of Global Theological Education in the new building at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.

“The Power of Communities and Covenants”
Acts 2:42-47
Dr. Tim Bruster
Dear Friends,
Acts 2:42-47 describes the earliest Christian Community in the second chapter of the New Testament book of Acts. It also sums up the tremendous power of communities and covenants:
42 The believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the community, to their shared meals, and to their prayers. 43 A sense of awe came over everyone. God performed many wonders and signs through the apostles. 44 All the believers were united and shared everything. 45 They would sell pieces of property and possessions and distribute the proceeds to everyone who needed them. 46 Every day, they met together in the temple and ate in their homes. They shared food with gladness and simplicity. 47 They praised God and demonstrated God’s goodness to everyone. The Lord added daily to the community those who were being saved. (Common English Bible)
Think about your own life.
What are your communities? What are your covenants?
