Easter Offering Open Through May 29
While Easter Sunday is now past, our Season of Easter is a joyous time of celebration and reflection that extends through May 29 according to our liturgical calendar. Each year as a faith community we honor this time and space of grateful reflection by sharing the hope of resurrection with people living in despair through our “second mile” Easter Offering. Your prayerful gift provides direct support to vital outreach programs including:
FIRST STREET METHODIST MISSION: Supports the feeding ministries at the First Street Methodist Mission.
OUTREACH MINISTRIES: Supports the FUMC Methodist Justice Ministry, United Community Centers, Habitat for Humanity, and Child Development Programs for Homeless Children at the YWCA.
CHURCH GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT: Supports new church starts in the Central Texas Conference through the Shares Program. Please remember that the funds making possible our First 7th Community come from Church Growth and Development.
PERKINS SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY: Help fulfill our church’s commitment to provide the office of Global Theological Education in the new building at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.

“A New Heart and a New Spirit”
Ezekiel 36:24 – 28 & 2 Corinthians 5:16 – 18
Dr. Tim Bruster
Dear Friends,
In the 9:40 am service in the Leonard Memorial Chapel and at the 11:00 am service in the sanctuary, we will continue to consider what resurrection means—not just in the distant past, but in the lives of people today. There is newness of life all around us:
evidenced not only in the Spring, but in the hope that springs forth from the direst circumstances;
evidenced not only in the budding of a tree, but in the budding of a new perspective, a new way of seeing;
evidenced not only in the opening of a flower, but in the opening of a life to God and to new life as a follower of Jesus.

Roger Partridge
Director of Stewardship
After studying the stewardship needs of the church and to address one of the three major emphases identified by our church leadership, we are delighted to announce that Roger Partridge has joined our staff as Director of Stewardship, a new position funded by a generous bequest from the Wanda Jean Burton estate.
Roger comes to us from the Child Study Center Foundation where he has served as its Development Director and Chief Development Officer since 2007. He brings 22 years of experience in non-profit fundraising through annual gifts, special events, endowment funds, capital campaigns, planned giving, and major gifts. He will join us on June 2, and we look forward to welcoming Roger and his family into our First Church family!
