“The Salt of the Earth”
Matthew 5:13-20
Dr. Tim Bruster
Dear Friends,
Susan and I had the privilege of spending the weekend with our youth choir on a retreat to San Antonio this past weekend. What a great experience! It was a quick trip, but packed with good experiences.
We left Saturday morning at nine and ate our way to San Antonio: kolaches at the Czech Stop in West, Texas, a BBQ lunch in Georgetown, and a dessert stop in San Marcos for frozen yogurt. All along the way, in addition to taking in more than sufficient nourishment, we played a game to help us get to know one another better and what we share in common with others.

Peanut Butter Wars 2014
Help us win this challenge and, more importantly, help our neighbors in need by participating in Peanut Butter Wars 2014. Genesis United Methodist Church has accepted our challenge to see which church can collect the most peanut butter during the month of February. We lost this challenge last year – let’s not let that happen again!
There are THREE ways you can help:
1. Bring your jars of peanut butter to the Welcome Center on Sundays during February — or to the First Street Mission Monday – Thursday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
2. Make a cash donation at the Welcome Center on Sundays. (Eager, bargain-sniffing peanut butter shoppers are standing by!)
3. Click here to donate online now! We’ll purchase and stack the peanut butter for you!
Questions? Contact First Street Methodist Mission at 817/335-6080.
OK, FUMCFW . . . it’s time for you to
BRING IT!

2.9 – 4.13 ROOTS OF CHANGE

Sunday | 9:00 – 11:00 am
Sunday | 12:30 – 2:30 pm (potluck lunch each week)
Wednesday | 6:00 – 8:00 pm (potluck dinner each week)
Registration Required
Recent discoveries in neuroscience suggest that emotion plays a much more central role to human motivation and perception than has been previously thought. Roots of Change groups will explore a powerful theory of how these dynamics of human consciousness operate through an experiential process of group interaction allowing you to live with greater freedom, engage in more fulfilling relationships, reach your goals, and expand your spiritual life. There is no fee, but preregistration is required. Past participants who “paid it forward” through donations make this experience available for anyone interested. For more information about upcoming groups or to register, contact Marianne Wilson (mwilson@myfumc.org) at 817/339-5071.
