“We All Have A Part To Play”
1 Corinthians 3:4-9
Dr. Tim Bruster
Dear Friends,
Last Fall I announced a trip to the Holy Land June 22 – July 2, 2014. The deadline for registration is quickly approaching, and there are still several openings. As you have probably heard me say more than once, when Susan and I made our first tour of Israel in 1994, it was a life-changing experience. To be in the land and stand where Jesus stood … to drive along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, and to see the magnificent ruins … to rest in the Garden of Gethsemane, to walk down the Via Dolorosa, and to take Communion at the Garden Tomb … these experiences are ones you never forget.

Thank you for the blessing you are to others as part of our First Church family.

Peanut Butter Wars 2014
Help us win this challenge and, more importantly, help our neighbors in need by participating in Peanut Butter Wars 2014. Genesis United Methodist Church has accepted our challenge to see which church can collect the most peanut butter during the month of February. We lost this challenge last year – let’s not let that happen again!
There are THREE ways you can help:
1. Bring your jars of peanut butter to the Welcome Center on Sundays during February — or to the First Street Mission Monday – Thursday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
2. Make a cash donation at the Welcome Center on Sundays. (Eager, bargain-sniffing peanut butter shoppers are standing by!)
3. Click here to donate online now! We’ll purchase and stack the peanut butter for you!
Questions? Contact First Street Methodist Mission at 817/335-6080.
Two weeks into the challenge to Genesis FUMC, the peanut butter bins at FUMCFW are overflowing. A small army transported the hundreds of jars to First Street Methodist Mission while a volunteer shopped for more with the $800 in cash donations given to support the cause. Men, women, and children have stepped up to ensure that FUMCFW takes the prize in the challenge to collect peanut butter for distribution at our food pantry.
CNNPeanutbutter and WallStreetProtein both predict significant gains for FUMCFW in the two weeks remaining for the challenge.
Two more weeks—bring it!
