First7th Connecting Service
Lance Marshall, Pastor, First7th
This Sunday is an important day of worship and celebration for our entire church. I joined the First UMC staff in June to help serve a mission to engage more young families in the city (we call it First UMC in West 7th, or First7th for short). In the past six months, we have had a number of successful small group, social, and service events, and we are ready to begin offering “preview” services of our new worship opportunities in the next few months.
Before we begin to offer additional worship services elsewhere in the community, however, we want to have a time of worship here at the FUMCFW sanctuary to build the connection and relationship between the various elements of our church body. Simply put, we are one church, and there is no better way to forge and strengthen that connection then to spend time in worship together.

NOVEMBER MISSION SUNDAYS: SHEETS AND TOWELS
Please bring sheets and towels to FSMM during regular donation hours, Monday – Thursday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm or to the Welcome Center on Sunday. Remember: Small Gifts, Big Difference!
Perhaps it is our own childhood memories of Christmas joy — and the excitement of surprises and gifts — that inspire us to give gifts to those who might not otherwise experience much joy at Christmastime.
Maybe that’s why giving toys to children in need this time of year has become such a favorite tradition.
This Christmas we’re celebrating that impulse — and turning it . . . Inside Out.
Watch for details in the coming weeks to discover how you can become part of bringing joy to others this holiday season in surprising new ways.

11.17 First7th Connecting Service
November 17 marks the date of our special First7th Connecting service to emphasize the unity between FUMCFW main campus and our new ministry to West 7th Street.
“It’s an opportunity for FUMC to experience first-hand the worship service we’re developing that seeks to combine the rich traditions of our heritage with the needs of the people in that unique community,” says First7th Pastor, Lance Marshall.
“Afterwards, this congregation will be be able to share the story of this new ministry with people they encounter. We’ll incorporate the powerful, timeless elements of our traditional worship into a service that can take place in spaces other than our sanctuary, and we think it will delight people who have never experienced anything quite like it.”
