We will be finishing our first school year this Thursday of our Food 4 Kids program. On most Sundays during the school year different Sunday school classes or other FUMCFW small groups come to our First Street Mission to pack 100 sacks of snack food to be sent home on the weekends with students at I.M. Terrell Elementary School. This is a simple task of going down the line and putting one of each food item in a plastic sack and usually takes a group around 30 minutes. But these sacks are going home with children who are fed several meals a day all week at school but may not have anything in their kitchens to eat for the weekend. Please consider signing up with your FUMCFW small group when we start up in the Fall. We will be adding 50 sacks going to T.A. Sims along with our 100 to I.M. Terrell. Thank you to all that have helped us this year!
“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” — Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa changed the world not because she had lots of money or political power. She changed the world because she trusted God that her small efforts would add up and make a difference in her community. The secret of God’s Kingdom is — if you and I and our friends can work together to help those around us in need, we really can make God’s vision of a loving world a reality! Please join us!
