Food 4 Kids Frequently Asked Questions

Food 4 Kids

Q: Who will be the recipients of the Food 4 Kids?

A: The staff of the I. M. Terrell Elementary School will pre-select 100 students who are at-risk of hunger when they are at home.

Q: What will the Food 4 Kids program do to prevent hunger and improve nutrition?

A: On each Thursday or Friday during the school year FUMC members will provide backpacks containing nutritious food that won’t need cooking or refrigeration. After taking the backpack home and removing the food, the student will return the backpack to the school. First Street Mission staff and/or volunteers will pick up the backpacks and fill them again for each weekly delivery.

Q: Who will prepare the backpacks?

A: Small groups such as Sunday school classes may participate, but details are pending. Watch for more information during the summer.

Q: When will this ministry begin?

A: This is planned for the start of the 2014 – 15 school year.

Q: Who may we contact for more information?

A: Rev. Page Hines at First Street Mission, (phines@firststreetmission.org) at 817/339-5069
