This Advent season provides a wonderful opportunity to bless our many First Responders who so willingly serve the various communities represented within our congregation. We invite you all to stop by the Welcome Center the next two Sundays to pick up a box, fill it with baked goods, and deliver it to your local police or fire station. Two years ago, Beverly Stevens picked up a box and took it filled with treats to her local fire station #16. She was richly blessed by this experience! Since then, she has taken them treats every week and they have developed a special relationship — they have all been transformed and blessed by this amazing experience! This Sunday, firefighters from Station 16, Beverly Stevens, and Sammye Dunn will be in both of our Sanctuary services and will be handing out boxes at the Welcome Center from 10:30 – 11:00 am. Stop by to meet and thank them, pick up a box to fill, and deliver it to others — you all will be blessed. Sammye has even had a fire station that changed locations call her, tell her that they heard that we were doing this, and that they wanted to be included with the others! Advent is a special time for giving — let’s bless these First Responders who give to us all throughout the year!
