First 7th this Sunday moved to Wesley Hall!

Staff_Marshall, LanceNew First 7th features are ready to drop!
The next First 7th worship service is tomorrow, 5 to 6 p.m. Because our community is quickly outgrowing the Justin Building space, we will worship tomorrow in FUMC’s Wesley Hall, 800 W 5th St. We held a service there earlier in the year and many of you loved its high ceiling and great acoustics, so we’re excited to be back! We’ve also added a few new pieces to our community to continue to help families grow together as disciples. Here’s a short summary:

1. More for kids. As always, we will have professionally-staffed childcare for kids infant to age 4, and families will worship together for much of the service. Starting tomorrow, we will also offer an optional Kids’ Church for elementary-aged kids. After the music and singing, our kids will head off to a special kids’ room for lessons and activities that work on same Bible stories the adults will be talking about. They’ll come back and join us after the sermon, just in time for the last songs and communion. This will be a great way to both allow families to worship together and provide age-appropriate ways for kids to learn about Jesus.

2. More for adults. Immediately following the service, we will have a time of discussion and feedback from 6 to 7 p.m. Based on long Methodist traditions, we call this gathering a “class meeting.” Pastor Lance will lead the meeting, which will feature opportunities to discuss the topics of worship, engage real-life issues of living as a disciple, and discuss ways we can grow together as a church. We’ll have some light snacks and refreshments and will meet at tables set up in the rear of Wesley Hall. There will also be snack and activities for kids as well as childcare for parents who participate in the class meeting. No reservations are required.

We have an exciting few months ahead of us at First 7th! I will share some MAJOR announcements with you all during worship. Don’t miss it!

I’ll see you tomorrow,
