As a young child it was a given that our family would be in worship every Sunday. Last week I shared some of my memories of worship with Mike Marshall, as he was raised in a similar-sized town in Illinois, where I also grew up. I remember the big sound of the pipe organ, the funeral home advertisement on the paper fans in the pews (there was no air conditioning), and my father singing the hymns. FUMCFW offers many wonderful and diverse worship experiences, and each week the staff plans each of these services with special attention to all the details that help make it a meaningful time for you — regardless of which service or style of worship you choose. Your gifts to FUMCFW make it possible for us to worship our God with scripture, a powerful message, soul stirring music, and the timeless comfort of our beautiful building. I still like the big sound of the organ and am very grateful for air conditioning (those paper fans would be no match for a Texas summer!), and sometimes, I can still hear the echo of my father’s voice beside me, singing his favorite hymns. I hope to see you in worship this week.
