I don’t use the terms, “unqualified opinion,” and “no deficiencies” on a normal day, but this past week I got to share with our church staff both of those terms as they related to our recently-completed FUMCFW 2014 audit. After attending a meeting of the audit committee (made up of members of our finance committee) to hear a preliminary report from a partner of our audit firm, I realized the importance of these words as a reflection of the tireless dedication and teamwork of our church’s business office. Handling hundreds of very different kinds of transactions each and every week, this special team led by Larry Ammerman and including Janet Ball, Steven Fagan, and Olivia Perkins, strives for the accuracy evident in our “no deficiencies” audit. Your support of the operating budget of our church through Stewardship helps ensure the highest accounting standards (GAAP) are in place to guide the business practices of our church. Thank you for your faithful giving that helps create teams such as this on our staff!
