On facing giants, Rev. Linda McDermott to speak in eleven:eleven

We had a great Sunday celebration this past week with internationally known storytellers Donald Davis and Pippa White and the Sacred Tales Concert! Pippa’s moving story of a young German teen’s efforts to hide and protect 13 Jews from Nazi soldiers was deeply moving and inspiring. And Donald’s story had the packed ballroom crowd in stitches to the final, inspiring moment of insight and forgiveness. We welcomed our guest speakers as part of a series of Summer guests in our new location at the Historic 512, and the response has been positive!

This Sunday, Rev. Linda McDermott will bring us a message of humor, inspiration, and an invitation to seek out and do the one thing we can do in the face of despair! What are the imposing giants in our world that seem undefeatable? At the heart of despair is a sense of inevitability, no way out, nothing we can do to change our situation. This Sunday Linda reflects on the Old Testament story of a scrawny kid standing up to the massive realities of humiliation, despair, and oppression — the story of David and Goliath.
