“Going the Extra Mile” Easter Offering

Nancy FisherI love the way that FUMCFW includes our youngest members in our Holy Week activities. The Family Maundy Thursday and the Family Good Friday meals and services are beautiful, thoughtful ways of sharing with our children the last days of Jesus.

Then there is Saturday’s Easter Egg Hunt at Lyle Lodge which will be jammed with fun — not only in the way of quests for eggs but there will also be face-painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, a butterfly release, food trucks, and more. (I need to borrow some grandkids!)

Easter morning will be a day for family with six opportunities for worship as we proclaim, “He is not here; He has risen.”

We are a church that proudly goes the “extra mile” during this Easter season so that our children and families experience the love of God as revealed in Jesus Christ.

I am asking you personally to prayerfully consider going the extra mile in showing God’s love through an Easter Offering in addition to your regular church offering.

With such a focus on children and families during this time of year, it seems only fitting that your special gift will also benefit several special ministries that have a children/youth focus.

This year’s Easter Offering will support:

First Street Methodist Mission to provide emergency food, clothing, infant formula, and limited financial assistance with respect and compassion for all whom we serve.

Camperships for Children to provide a fun, safe summer experience for children in partnership with United Community Centers’ Summer Campership Program.

Kenya Orphan Endeavor to offer the opportunity for more than 180 Kenyan children to receive an education by supporting school scholarships and uniforms.

Lydia Patterson Institute to give bilingual student interns the opportunity to assist any church ministries that fit with their gifts and graces to promote Hispanic ministries.

Costa Rica Ministry partnering with other United Methodists around the world to support the Methodist Church in Costa Rica and their outreach programs.

Methodist Justice Ministry to protect women and children from domestic violence, abuse, and neglect, offering new lives free of violence, abuse, fear, and self-loathing.

Give online (choose Easter Offering from the drop-down menu) or via check (with “Easter Offering” in your memo line).

Thank you!

Blessings,

Nancy
