I hope you enjoyed the many different choirs we presented in recent weeks. We had our Singing Men and Singing Women of First Church perform as well as our wonderful students in the Cornerstone Youth Choir. We also heard from Crossroads, our in-house Bluegrass Ensemble, just a few weeks ago. Mixed in to all of these performances have been presentations by our beloved Choral Union. These are exciting times for our musicians. Choral Union continues to work on their Holy Week presentation of “Requiem for the Living” by Dan Forrest. Our Fifth Street Bells recently performed in the Greater Dallas Handbell Association Festival in Dallas. Cornerstone is beginning to prepare for their summer tour to Colorado Springs, and our amazing Adoramus Chamber Choir is preparing for a most unique presentation on Good Friday evening. They will perform “Missa Lucis,” composed by our own Justin Binek. This work is from the jazz genre. It will certainly be a different approach to the more traditional Good Friday presentations done in the past.
I hope you will continue to support our wonderful music programs here at FUMCFW. Our musicians do a fantastic job in giving their time and talents to the church and its members.
