Join us online this summer as we take a quest during VBS week at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth.
We hesitate to use the word “virtual” since the Bible stories will still be real, the music will still be real, the ridiculous things we make Dr. Mike wear will be real.
And God’s love is and always will be . . . real!
In this highly interactive digital VBS experience, your kids will discover the strength of God’s power by exploring how we put on the armor of God.They’ll take on the role of Knights as we learn about God’s Kingdom. They’ll explore the different pieces of God’s protective armor – the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Justice, the Shoes of Peace, the Shield of Faith, and the Helmet of Salvation.
Each day will start at 10:00 am with Assembly and include:
- Songs and Prayers
- Cameo appearances by several “knights” aka Mister Mark’s only opportunity each year to get our clergy to do and say ludicrous things.
- A visit with Sparky the Dragon and Kazoo the Jester
- A Mission Update (more on this below)
- The Spirit Stick
As soon as Assembly is over, a series of videos will drop for each day, including:
- Bible Story
- Music (the songs for the week)
- Crafts How-To
- Science Demonstrations
These will each be 8-10 minutes long, led by people your children know and love, and can be watched whenever it works best for your family. If you’d like to watch them all back-to-back right after Assembly, great! If you want to spread them throughout the day, great! If you want to wait until everyone in the family can watch them together for an evening VBS, great!
Know this – No child has ever been turned away from VBS due to money, and no one ever will! Just let us know that your child still plans to participate, and we will take care of it.
If you find that you are able to sponsor a child who might not otherwise be able to attend, or if you simply know that $15 per child, even with online VBS, doesn’t begin to cover all the expenses, we welcome and appreciate your support!
We look forward to this unusual and engaging experience geared specifically to this time and to help kids learn how God’s armor can work in their own lives — every day!
