This workshop with Jamie Cobb, Vice-President of Caregiver and Community Education of the James L. West Alzheimer’s Center, focuses on the care partnering techniques, Positive Physical Approach™ (PPA) and Hand Under Hand™ (HUH). These skills enable care partners to shift from simply “dealing with behaviors” to creating a positive and caring environment. Care partners will also learn to recognize signals of unmet needs and growing distress and respond in a way that reduces anxiety and improves quality of life for people with dementia.
The Positive Approach® to Care is a training organization offered by Teepa Snow, OTR/L, nationally recognized dementia educator and trainer.
The workshop facilitator is a Certified Positive Approach to Care Trainer and is qualified to facilitate workshops and train others in the Positive Approach® to Care philosophy.
