This is the perfect opportunity to get to know others who are looking to put down roots at First Church, have a chance to meet some of our clergy and staff, and ask any questions about FUMCFW you may have, as well as learn about membership. After a small break at 10:30, you will have the opportunity to formally join FUMCFW if you are ready to do so at a short (10 – 15 minute) ceremony with Dr. Bruster and Rev. Lance Marshall where everyone will say their membership vows together and take communion.  We like to do “big days” of joining and doing so as a group signifies how this journey is something we’re doing alongside each other. Plus, when you join this way, you will immediately have a connection with others who are new just like you.

What if you decide at the end of the hour you aren’t ready to join? No worries; joining is completely optional. Please know, whenever the time is right for you, you are always welcome to join. We’ve certainly had people attend this event more than once before they made the decision to join.

If you have questions or need more information, please contact Lisa Helm, Director of Welcoming Ministries at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, at 817-339-2403 or lhelm@myfumc.org.
