Lake Mineral Wells Outdoor Ministry Retreat
Friday, October 18 – Sunday, October 20
October 18 – 20, 2019
Lake Mineral Wells State Park | Texas
Food cost: $25 for adults, $12 for kids | Registration and payment required through State Park
We will gather at the beautiful Lake Mineral Wells State Park on October 18 – 20 for our first camp out for fall 2019. This park’s natural beauty makes you think you’re much farther away from Fort Worth than just 50 miles! This relaxing venue offers plenty of options — from hiking and exploring to fishing to sitting under a tree reading a good book.
Please note that due to new regulations with the State parks system, EACH participant will need to make their own reservations with Lake Mineral Wells State Park. You can make a reservation online or by phone at 512-389-8900.
Dan and Beth Cooper, our brand new Outdoor Ministry Lay Leaders, will be in the PLATEAU camping area site #60. For maximum fellowship and to be close to the group, we recommend you make reservations for the PLATEAU camping loop.
Be sure to make your reservations SOON because these parks fill up fast in the fall. You will pay for your own RV sites and shelters directly to the Texas State system.
The only additional cost is $25 per person ($12 for kids) to cover all the food for the whole weekend, and we eat well! No one goes hungry on our trips, and the grub is always amazing.

How does experiencing the outdoors impact spirituality?
We call it the “three-day effect.” Just three days in the outdoors has an incredible effect on people. When we slow down, stop the busy work, and take in beautiful natural surroundings, not only do we feel restored but our mental performance improves too. Spending time in the outdoors helps declutter our brains and open our minds to the beauty of God’s creation. Read the whole story of the Three-Day Effect here!
