North Texas Giving Day
Thursday, September 19, 2019
6:00 am – midnight
Online at NorthTexasGivingDay.org
North Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour online giving event in which every donation you make of $25 or more will be multiplied with bonus funds and prizes!
Specifically designed to empower individuals to give back to their community, North Texas Giving Day makes it easy to support the local nonprofits and causes you care about in one easy-to-use platform, on one designated day each year. (However, you can now schedule your gift for this day any time between September 9 and 18!)
This year, as in years past, three vital ministries of the FUMCFW faith community who must raise all or part of their own programming budgets — First Street Methodist Mission, Methodist Justice Ministry, and Dementia Friendly Fort Worth — will participate in North Texas Giving Day.
Because these are also three distinctly separate 501c3 non-profit organizations, your North Texas Giving Day gifts must be designated specifically to each ministry.
Thank you for all you do to support these ministries of our church! As a reminder:
First Street Methodist Mission strives to meet the basic needs of others — such as food, clothing, and infant formula — in an atmosphere of respect and love for all of God’s children.
Methodist Justice Ministry protects indigent women and children from domestic violence, neglect, and abuse and then helps them lead new lives free of violence, abuse, fear, and self-loathing.
Dementia Friendly Fort Worth serves people with dementia, care partners, communities, and business sectors with education, awareness, and training to create life-enriching services, practices, and support.NorthTexasGivingDay.org
Frequently Asked Questions
Doesn’t FUMCFW already give money to these ministries?
As of this year’s Easter Offering — and in the future the Christmas Offerings — Methodist Justice Ministry, First Street Methodist Mission, and Dementia Friendly Fort Worth are recipients of these second-mile offerings. They also receive funding through designated gifts, honorariums, and memorials.
In addition, First Church provides occasional funding for special needs and in-kind support to cover overhead costs including office space, administrative and accounting services, utilities, and building maintenance. However, they still must raise funding for their programming, projects, materials, and operating costs through grants, donations and fundraising activities such as North Texas Giving Day.
